Check out part 4 of our adventure if you haven’t, yet.
After a few nice days in southern California, it’s time to hit the road again.
This is the motto of our trip.
Where are we headed next?
Now that’s a long straight stretch of highway.
This is our first quick stop. Why’s that, you ask?
Why for another roller coaster, of course.
Well that stinks. Maybe next time.
We made it to Vegas and got settled at our campsite. We had reserved one with a nice plot of grass.
We got lucky and had a great view of the Stratosphere.
Our campsite was at Circus Circus, on the strip with an indoor amusement park attached, The Adventuredome.
I was looking forward to this new El Loco roller coaster but it wasn’t open yet – it’s still under construction.
Canyon Blaster was open and was running great! What a fun ride.
Let’s head up the strip away from our campsite.
Las Vegas has lots of great sights to see.
Since it was New Year’s Eve, over 500,000 people were expected on the strip. They had the Port-a-Johns all ready.
Look! Another Forever 21. Fortunately we made it past this one.
Enjoy some more shots of our from The Strip.
Next we stopped to watch the Volcano. It was a blast!
Jeffrey loved it tremendously. How can you not love fire and explosions?
The volcano is part of the Mirage in case you didn’t know.
Hey, a Margaritaville! They are always a fun place to eat.
The local TV crews were getting ready to broadcast for New Years.
Next up we stopped to watch the water show in front of the Bellagio.
You never know what you are going to see in Vegas.
Our final destination on the strip.
Who’d have thought the New York, NY casino would have a Nathan’s?
We came to ride the roller coaster. This will be our one and only time. It was kind of boring.
As we head back down the strip the crowds are picking up.
The lights are really shining now.
Great, we’re back! Wow, what a lot of walking we have done in the past 4 hours. Care to sit a spell?
…and it’s New Year’s! The fireworks have begun!
Happy New Year! What a great fireworks show!
Click here to continue to part 6. It is the final part, I swear!
