When it’s hot in the summer, where does everybody want to go? To the beach, of course! So we loaded up the RV and headed to Myrtle Beach, SC. Final destination, our cozy camping spot at Lakewood RV Resort. They have been improving their facilities and turning into a great resort in the south Myrtle Beach area.
Our main attraction for this beach trip was a 2 hour ride on Sea Thunder, a jet boat.. (…”a three hour tour”…) We’re going out into the Atlantic Ocean to see dolphins.
We cruise casually down the Intracoastal Waterway. There are speed limits out here.
And on our left we have a lighthouse. Governor’s Point Lighthouse.
It is official. I was here. Selfies weren’t a popular term yet.
Hey, three other crazy people that are tagging along with me. See how nice and dry we look?
The great sights continue as we see the water’s view of the small communities and towns that have sprung up to support the local fishermen. That’s not something these RV land lovers get to see very often.
Hey! Look. They didn’t make it back.
Neither did they. I sure hope we make it.
Do they let just anybody drive these things? Apparently so.
Now we have turned out to sea through the Little River Inlet. We’ll see plenty more fishing vessels where we’re headed.
Dolphins. And more dolphins. That was a successful trip!
After leaving the dolphins behind, our captain had some fun with the jet boat and was able to give most of us a good soaking. Some will call this a dock.
Some will call this all washed up.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. By the way, if you’re looking for a fun family time, check out Senor Frogs at Broadway at the Beach. We’ve never been disappointed.
Back at the campground and dried off, we came across a friendly duck.
…and his cronies.
Boy, they are everywhere.
They have a few pools here. I tested one out. Can you believe, they installed it upside down.
We had a great time with lots of family love!
Happy Camping!
