Spring has arrived in the south so it’s time to get on the road!
Focus. Both hands on the wheel. No texting.
We arrive at Dollywood without fanfare and enjoy some of their great shows.
Dollywood puts on festivals all year long and we were there for the Festival of Nations this time. Drums are a popular instrument around the world and the super friendly staff is there to get everybody engaged.
The new for 2009 Adventure Mountain is calling us to be adventurers.
Every day is a great day at Dollywood!
For this trip, we stayed at the Pigeon Forge KOA and got one of their spacious patio sites. This campground is well maintained.
It is adjacent to Patriot Park where there is a very large open grass field surrounded by a paged walking trail. There is a walking path connecting the campground to the park.
On the other side of Patriot Park is Old Mill Restaurant. They serve good home cooking and plenty of it. We love to stop in here for breakfast when we’re in Pigeon Forge TN.
It is adjacent to Old Mill, a working mill and you can buy products in the gift shop. Across the street are numerous shops that sell everything from candy to pottery. If you are lucky, you will get a window view overlooking the Little Pigeon River.
Maybe next time we’ll run into you.
Happy camping!
